ON-A opened its doors at the 48H Open House Barcelona – 2020 Edition

ON-A abre sus puertas en el 48H Open House Barcelona

Last Saturday, October 24th, ON-A opened its doors at the 48H Open House Barcelona. The festival is held every year in Barcelona and is a special occasion to visit private and public buildings that are normally not accessible.

The motto of the Open House BCN 2020 wants to revindicate the concept of the fifteen-minute city, where basic services are within a maximum distance of fifteen minutes walking. This concept has gained strength during the pandemic and is becoming increasingly present in the conceptualization of new urban ideas.

This year, the focus was on a healthy city, a more humane, fair, and sustainable space. For this reason, in our ON-A smart office, we have explained how we organize our creative and multidisciplinary team combining disciplines such as research in parametric architecture, BIM tools for management and bio construction, or the investigation of new materials and construction systems.

We have discussed our most advanced proposals such as the Nou Parc, a green blanket to cover the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona, the Llano Amarillo park in Algeciras, the Taichung Gateway Park in Taiwan, the project for the Tarragona 2017 Mediterranean Games or the planning of a city of the future NEOM Mega City.

ON-A Headquarters has 400m2 divided into four areas. An exhibition space dedicated to explaining the 15 years of our trajectory in a video, an area dedicated to 3D printing to develop the most innovative solutions, an area designed in stands where events are organized to share knowledge and an interior patio in that new technologies such as urban green building are put into practice.

On the same day, we organized a raffle among all visitors for the book ON-A: emotion architecture. Works & Projects. The winner @twistsandshouts was the lucky one, congratulations!.

Thank you for having attended so interested and in a number out of the expected!
