This design for an apartment building on one of the main channels of the Empuriabrava network of waterways is an example of the application of parametric architecture that promises to regenerate the identity of the sector through innovation and technology.

Located on one of the main streets in Empuriabrava is this unique apartment building design. Taking into account it’s setting in a shopping area, the ground floor is planned to house commercial premises, a parking area in the basement, and duplex apartments with gardens.

Leisure and relaxation are catered for with a solarium and pool area on the roof, offering stunning close-up views of the sea. The exterior enclosing wall is the result of explorations in parametric architecture using key resources such as CAD/CAM digital production.

Working from this basis, the concept includes a façade that functions as a visual filter, generating a harmonious overall image for the building with a continuous latticework wall rendered in glass fiber reinforced concrete. The design affords privacy to the building’s apartments and gardens on the main facade, as well as giving the whole a cutting-edge architectural identity.
